Sometimes, I call this the drawing that gave birth to West of Wild. Originally, meant for your beloved Caleb...Mr. Swithen came in and took it hostage as Swithen's are so charmingly known to do.
As in Poker...I have to say: A well played hand, Sir.
I loved it when you first showed it to me, but when you burned it in and made it looked like a something loved through the ages. A memory both cherished and at times, nearly burned...
Heart stutters, stops...and falls.
And like the person who drew it, this piece carries a lot of meaning to it...as I feel the heartbeat of the woman who carries it in her possession. A something she knows she should let go of...but can't get her fingers to give over and let go, try as she may. He is a past that can't be buried, no matter how hard she tries. He haunts her.
Art like cherished photographs can sometimes feel like home - this is one of those pieces.
And I love the key necklace displayed on Swithen's chest, because of the CD that tends to follow him and Scarlett around when we write them (Anberlin's - Lost Songs).
The drawing was done before I think either you or I had seen the cover of the CD, I think...brain is sometimes mushy when trying to perform 'recall'.
Very nice. Oh so symbolic, like many of your drawings are - holding lil secrets/details inside them that relate to the story.
Stories within stories and stories within the art that goes with it.
When is enough enough... What difference does it make when popular artist vent vent vent and support a site that tolerates deviant behaviour. HA! no wonder its all in a name.

Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.
I can't believe so many artists dedicate their efforts and time to create authentic works of art for us to USE freely! In the world of 3D stocks [ most of it unknown to the photomanipulators ] you can find truly inspiring fantasy and surreal elements that could never be captured by a regular camera. And the best part is that most of them come in a transparent background, so we can simply click and drag onto our work. How fun, fast and easy is that?
A former volunteer with the Artist Relations team, `kuschelirmel has always been a wonderful role model within the community.
With a vibrant and eclectic gallery that would make anyone proud, her dedication to providing informative and easy to follow tutorials, journal CSS, and inspirational stock is clearly long overdue for recognition.
